Happy Mother’s Day to my wonderful Mom! Mom, thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me. I honestly can’t express how grateful I am to have you to credit for raising and taking care of me to be the person I am today. I know we have our moments where we fight and argue and I take you for granted, but always know that I appreciate everything you do! You should have more than one day a year where your kids recognize the love and care you put into everything for us. I couldn’t ask for a more amazing mother for supporting me and my siblings the way you have. I love you so much!

I went to the Foster the People concert last night and it was honestly one of the most incredible experiences of possibly my life… but definitely one of the highest points of my entire exchange year. Seeing my one of my favorite bands from my home country with all of my favorite people in my host country… absolutely amazing. I still smile every time I think about that night. It was one of those moments where I just had to stop and look around and realize how lucky I am to be living this life :) That night will always hold a special place in my heart. So unexplainable. Also, I have new crush on Mark Foster <333 Literally one of the sweetest and most gorgeous bands xoxo

I went onto google to find this special little doodle! I immediately noticed that it was Polish-themed and lit up :D But then felt really embarrassed that I didn’t even know what it was for… here’s to Władysław Reymont’s birthday! He was a Polish author who won the Nobel Prize in Literature, most famous for his novel, Chłopi, or The Peasants. (Yeah, all of that was from wikipedia… w/evz).

ALSO speaking of writing, I’ve been keeping a journal and writing in it legitimately every single day since I’ve gotten here. I’ve been so consistent with it and I’m really proud of myself! Except it takes three days to break a habit and twenty-one to start one (fact), so when I didn’t write at all when my family came (nie było czasu), I fell reallllly far behind… Now I’m trying to catch up on the two weeks plus the week I’ve been back and I have to wear a rubber medical glove to keep my hand from getting blisters and sweaty from writing so much… yeah, it’s really embarrassing.

Since my fam brought me back sooo many groceries, I’ve been absolutely BINGING on American food lately… I’ve broken into one of my five boxes of Kraft mac n’ cheese, ate half a box of cheezits last night just because I could, made pancakes (with maple syrup obvz) and Dunk’s coffee for breakfast, and I’m currently sitting on my balcony with a box of cap’n crunch in hand… mmm life is GOOD

Today is Majówka, or May Day!!! It’s an important holiday here in Polska, but none of my Polish friends can tell me why… lolll keep it up in history class, good job guys. May 3rd is the day Poland was granted independence and their constitution, so this week is chock full of no school days! Plus this week the third class (aka seniors) have their matura exam, which is basically the biggest test of their lives. Instead of having finals at the end of every class the way we do, every single thing that they’ve EVER learned in all three years of high school, is compiled into one big test at the end of their high school career. This test determines whether or not they even can attend university. If you fail, you have to wait another year to take it again next May, no redos or anything, so no college. All of my friends, especially my host sister, are wickeddd stressed out (obvs I can see why). So because it’s such a big deal, we don’t have school for the rest of the week because the school needs to be absolutelyyy quiet for them to work. Good luck guys! YOUR FUTURE DEPENDS ON IT… Now excuse me while I go into the city to hang wid mah frandz tralalaaa ;* Powodzenia i najlepszego!
